From a Titanium dust explosion at an aerospace manufacturer to an Aluminum dust explosion at a bicycle parts factory to explosions in grain elevators, Combustible Dusts are created in a wide variety of workplaces and working conditions. In just one month, December 1977 to January 1978 there were 7 grain elevator explosions injuring 55 and killing 62 people.
The Chemical Safety Board’s 2022 Combustible Dust Incident Report ©2023 states that, between 2016 and 2022 there were over 29 Explosions, over 26 Injuries and over 2 fatalities average per year. They also state that awareness of Combustible Dust hazards has a way of falling off the radar resulting in an outbreak of explosions, injuries, fatalities and business breaking property damage.
